Red And Black Hair Color

Roughly 5% of people that use hair color develop an allergy to it. Contact dermatitis tends to be the most common reaction, but more severe systemic reactions involving other organs happen.Severe swelling of the head, face, and neck, requiring a visit to the emergency room is not unheard of.
Allergies sometimes develop after years of regular contact with a given substance. Take for example members of the medical profession acquiring latex allergies from their gloves, after years of use. This phenomenon, known as an acquired allergy happens with hair color as well.
