Black Hair Products

African American hair will grow a lot faster if it receives proper care. Black hair products can help women of color manage their locks and keep them strong and healthy. However, it is still important to do your research before trying any new hair care product. Even within the African American community, there are different hair types. Determine your type and find products that ill suit your needs.

The right conditioner is very important to the health of black hair since it is vulnerable to dryness and breakage. Take a good look at your strands. Are they strong and shiny or are they brittle and snap off easily? The answer to these questions will help you choose the right conditioner for your hair. If your strands are dry, look for a leave-in conditioner and use it at least once every two weeks. If your hair is already healthy, use a deep conditioner once a month. Be sure to condition after each time you shampoo.
Any time that you notice your hair drying out, moisturize it. Dampen your hair and then massage in a little olive oil. Adding natural oils to your damp hair will help seal in moisture and strengthen the strands. Olive oil also makes a great deep conditioner. For deep conditioning, apply it immediately after shampooing and cover your head with a plastic cap and leave it on for 60 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
